What we offer

Claire currently offers mobile podiatry treatments in the conform of your own home. This is available throughout a large area of Northamptonshire.

Ingrowing an Unvolouted Toe Nails

Ingrown and unvoluted toenails are common foot problems that occur when the edges of the toenail grow into the surrounding skin. An ingrown toenail can cause pain, redness, and swelling, often leading to infection if not properly treated.

Corns and Callus

Corns and calluses are thickened areas of skin that develop as a response to friction or pressure, usually on the feet. Corns are smaller and often have a hard center surrounded by inflamed skin. They typically form on the toes and can be painful when pressed. Calluses are larger, broader areas of thickened skin that usually develop on the soles of the feet or the heels.

Diabetic Foot Assessments

Diabetic foot assessment is an essential part of managing diabetes, as people with the condition are at higher risk for foot complications due to poor circulation, nerve damage, and reduced ability to heal. A thorough assessment includes checking for signs of infection, skin breakdown, calluses, ulcers, and changes in the shape of the feet or nails. It also involves evaluating blood flow and sensation, often through tests like the monofilament test or checking pulses.

Cracked Heels and Heel Pain

Heel pain and cracked heels are common foot issues that can cause discomfort and affect daily activities. Heel pain is often caused by conditions like plantar fasciitis, which involves inflammation of the tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot. Cracked heels occur when the skin around the heel becomes dry, thickened, and fissured, often due to lack of moisture or pressure from standing for long periods.

Thickened and Deformed Nails

Thickened toenails occur when the nail becomes unusually hard and dense, often due to an infection or injury that causes the nail to grow abnormally. Deformed toenails, on the other hand, may change shape, becoming curved, ridged, or discolored.

Routine Podiatry

Routine podiatry care involves regular check-ups and treatments to maintain the health of the feet and lower limbs. This includes services like nail trimming, callus removal, treatment of corns or bunions, and monitoring for signs of foot infections or other conditions.
